Show Notes

45% of american workers experienced discrimination and/or harassment in the past year... but only 55% of workplaces have diversity and inclusion policies in place. it's never easy being the only minority in a room, but being one of the only minorities in your place of work comes with its own separate hurdles. from being profiled, to being stereotyped, to being treated differently based on your gender and/or ethnicity, there is no shortage of topics to be discussed with this subject. we've narrowed it down to some of our own experiences - which conveniently include racial profiling, stereotyping, and being treated differently based on your gender - as well as some facts and statistics concerning diversity in the workplace. did you know organizations with greater gender diversity and employee engagement outperform companies with lesser by more than 46%? there is literally no downside to promoting a more diverse and inclusive work environment, and above all else, that's what we're here to stress today.

minority support group stands with the asian-american community. hate crimes against the AAPI community have skyrocketed recently, but have received little to no media coverage. we remind our listeners to use their voices and get involved every week, and we want to start by following our own advice. being anti-racist means supporting all races, ethnicities, and cultures.

minority support group also stands with the black lives matter movement. BLM is one of the biggest inspirations for our podcast, and we continue to support and stay involved week by week.
